Looking for something different and new, then consider the 1996 Builders' Show. You wont' be disappointed with what the National Association of Home Builders Building Systems Councils and the Wood Truss Council of Americal (WTCA) will be demonstrating in the parking lot of the Houston Astrodome during the show's four days, January 26-29, 1996. The two groups will give the biggest and best demonstration of wood framing ever. Builders attending the Houston show will learn about the latest wood-framing methods from two homes built side-by-side.
Named "Framing the American Dream" by the project's sponsors, this hands-on seminar will offer home-builders the chance to learn more about the two major wood-framing methods in America today. While appearing to be identical, the two houses will actually be built using fundamentally different techniques. One house will feature wood component systems framing while the second house will feature fully engineered conventional stick framing. This important demonstration will give builders a first-hand view of the most cost effective and efficient way to achieve the structural integrity and design flexibility these two framing methods have to offer.
"American home builders take pride in the quality control and workmanship that go into each home," says Dwight Hikel, a Maryland component manufacturer who is spearheading the project and one of the project's corporate sponsors.
